forum JUGEND! is an association run by young people for young people. We plan our own projects: workshops and exhibitions in Dortmund, trips to Berlin and Brussels, Erasmus+ exchanges across Europe.
Young people should not just take part. They should decide, plan and take responsibility.
forum JUGEND! has been run by young people since 2019. Every idea, project and trip grows out of the group. We call it Clear Empowerment: young people who grew up in Dortmund show newly arrived young people their city, and everyone learns from each other.
From Dortmund to Brussels, Paris and Berlin
We plan every project ourselves, from the first idea to the final round.
HEIMAT: Yesterday and tomorrow!?
Young people from the Ruhr area photograph what home means to them: a place, a language, a memory, a feeling. Since 2021 the exhibition has travelled through schools, churches, parks, the Dortmund police headquarters and the NRW state parliament.
In 2022 it won the Dortmund Heimat-Preis with almost half of all votes.

Political education
Trips to the Bundestag and the European Parliament, conversations with MPs, our own podcasts with decision makers.
ProjectsEurope and Erasmus+
Youth exchanges and trainings with partners in France, Poland, Armenia, Italy and Türkiye. Travel, accommodation and food are funded.
Erasmus+Art, photo and AI
The HEIMAT exhibition, painting workshops in Paris, workshops on art and artificial intelligence.
HEIMATDortmund and neighbourhood
Interreligious dinners, stadium visits with the BVB-Lernzentrum, action days at Haus der Vielfalt and in schools across the region.
