About us

An association run by young people

Founded in Dortmund in 2019. Every idea, project and trip grows out of the group.

An association run by young people

Who we are

forum JUGEND! e.V. was founded in Dortmund in 2019 as an alliance of young people for young people. Our aim: to activate young people who do not feel addressed by mainstream society, through democratically organised education and space for their talents.

We call our method Clear Empowerment: help for self-help, where young people strengthen each other. Those who grew up in Dortmund show newly arrived young people the city. Those who have been on Erasmus+ prepare the next group. That is how responsibility and confidence grow from within.

We take all important decisions together. From brainstorming and planning to evaluation, young people are involved. Our activities range from workshops, exhibitions and actions in Dortmund to Erasmus+ programmes across Europe.

Our home is Haus der Vielfalt in Dortmund's Nordstadt. A second base is in Herten.

What we stand for

Four sentences that apply here

Young people decide

Not adults for young people, but young people for young people. From the first meeting to the evaluation.

Diversity is normal

Different origins, religions and languages are everyday life for us, not an exception.

Practising democracy

We debate, vote, argue fairly and take responsibility for the result.

Going out

Politics in the Bundestag, art in Paris, Europe in Brussels. Learning works best on site.
