HEIMAT: Yesterday and tomorrow!?
A snapshot of a diverse generation. Young people from the Ruhr area show what home means to them.

Home is not the same for everyone
In the workshop, young people from different countries who now live in the Ruhr area learned photography and captured what home means to them: pictures from their old and their new home, places, faces, memories.
The result is a travelling exhibition that starts conversations: about belonging, about diversity and about who actually decides what home is.
- Awarded the Dortmund Heimat-Preis 2022, first place
- Shown at the NRW state parliament, Dortmund police headquarters and the Westfalentag
- Side programme: talks, guided tours and workshops with school classes
